"Declaration on Nagorno-Karabakh does not reflect the actual position of Lithuanian Parliament"

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Lithuanian Parliament Emanuelis Zingers in his February 1 statement said that the declaration on Nagorno-Karabakh, signed by the Lithuanian MP Dalya Kuodite in PACE in conjunction with Armenian deputies does not reflect the actual position of Lithuanian Parliament.

“The declaration reflects the individual stand of the member of Lithuanian delegation in PACE”, Mr. Zingers said. He has emphasized that international community considers Nagorno Karabakh as an integral part of Azerbaijan.

According to Mr Zingers, the official position of Lithuania on this issue is reflected in declaration titled “In connection with proposals regarding the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh problem”, which was adopted at the 28th session of the Baltic Assembly in Vilnius, November, 2009.

The document supports territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and expresses concern regarding retardation of regional conflicts in Southern Caucasus.
