
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan Elman Arasli discussed the prospects of interparliamentary cooperation with chairman of the Upper House (Senate) of Jordan's Parliament Taher Masri, the Azerbaijani embassy in Jordan said.
The sides exchanged views on the issues of mutual visits of the heads of parliaments of two countries and the establishment of an interparliamentary friendship group.
Masri was first deputy chairman of Jordan's Senate in 2008 and visited Azerbaijan. He attended the celebration on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijani parliament. During his visit, he was also received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov.
Chairman of Jordan's Senate reiterated his support for the position of Azerbaijan over the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh at a meeting with Azerbaijani ambassador.
The views on the situation in Tunisia and Egypt, as well as on the current socio-political situation in Jordan were exchanged.
