European Court of Human Rights issued 16 decisions on Azerbaijan last year

According to APA, 337 applications allocated to a judicial formation, 167 of them were declared inadmissible or struck out, 49 applications referred to Government, 33 applications were declared admissible.Overall 16 judgments were made. Overall 16 judgments were made. 10 applications were struck out by a decision or judgment following a friendly settlement or unilateral declaration.

According to the statistics, Azerbaijani citizens applied mostly for protection of property rights (9 applications in 2010), protection of freedoms and security rights (8 applications) and fair judgment (4 applications).

Azerbaijan joined the European Convention on Human Rights 9 years ago and 1254 applications were sent to the court in the past period.
