27 January 2011 [17:15] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani embassy in Egypt called on the Azerbaijani citizens temporarily residing in this country to be careful and not to leave their homes during mass demonstrations in the country as far as possible.

The embassy carried out propaganda work among the Azerbaijani Diaspora members and fellow citizens temporarily residing and staying in Egypt by warning them about the danger, Azerbaijani Embassy in Cairo told Trend.

"Our fellow citizens are in no way involved in mass demonstrations, and so far, the consequences of riots in Egypt have not affected them," the embassy said.

Egyptian opposition parties and the Muslim Brotherhood movement banned in Egypt are going hold new mass demonstrations on Friday - official day off, despite a ban by the authorities, RIA Novosti reported.

The main demands that the demonstrators put forward are the dissolution of parliament, elections to which, according to them, were held with unacceptable violations. In addition, the opposition is going to require changing the law on presidential elections and release all those arrested during the recent events.

On Wednesday, Egypt's Interior Ministry issued a statement banning all protests. Law enforcement agencies vowed to bring violators of the ban to justice. Thousands of police were deployed on Wednesday in all major squares, streets and bridges of the Egyptian capital to prevent rallies.

Three people, including one policeman, were killed on Tuesday as a result of clash during a protest action.
