Azerbaijani ambassador meets CEO of Orbital Sciences Corporation

Azerbaijan`s ambassador to the United States Yashar Aliyev has met with David Thomson, Chief Executive Officer of the Orbital Sciences Corporation, which is responsible for designing, building and delivering Azersat, Azerbaijan's first telecommunication satellite.

The ambassador said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev pays much attention to development of satellite industry, innovative solutions and ensuring of information security.

The sides exchanged their views on building of Azersat satellite. Thomson noted 50 countries have their own satellites. According to him, putting the satellite into orbit will boost Azerbaijan's economy.
