PACE to hold winter session

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will hold its winter session in Strasbourg on January 24.
The 5-day event will discuss parliamentary elections in Moldova, Eastern partnership program and its impact on Eastern Europe, development of democratic institutions in Georgia and implementation of the Bern convention.

The session will also focus on human rights and situation of refugees. Azerbaijan`s delegation will again raise the issue of the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and express the country`s firm position.

The event will also feature the presentation of a report on “Reform of the Council of Europe”.

Along with the session, the participants will attend an event marking the 10th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s joining the Council. The event will bring together PACE chairman Movlut Cavusoglu, as well as representatives of Strasbourg self governance bodies.

Following the session, co-chairs of the PACE Monitoring Committee will visit Azerbaijan.
