Azerbaijani expert: 2011 will be decisive for Armenian statehood

06 January 2011 [17:08] - TODAY.AZ
2011 will be decisive for the Armenian statehood, Political Innovation and Technology Center head Mubariz Ahmadoglu said at a news conference today.

"Most of the events that occurred in Armenia in 2010 were negative and the unresolved. Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is in the center of it all," Ahmadoglu said.

He said over the past year, a number of problems became evident in Armenia, including a demographic crisis, assimilation of the Diaspora, price increase on the background of economic crisis, problems in the military.

There were quite tense moments for the Armenian authorities, Ahmadoglu said, citing the differences arising between the parliamentary speaker and president as example.

"In 2010, one of the most important events in Armenia is the gathering of a terrorist organization ASALA in the country. This meeting has negatively affected the socio-political life of the country and led to the weakening of the Armenian Diaspora in the U.S. and Russia," Ahmadoglu said.

He said the OSCE Minsk Group should draw conclusions from the fact that Armenia is controlled by a terrorist organization and understand that the party, which unleashed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, avoids a peaceful solution to this problem.
