Polish Foreign Ministry calls on country's citizens not to visit Nagorno-Karabakh without Azerbaijan's consent

06 January 2011 [13:35] - TODAY.AZ
The Polish Foreign Ministry urges its citizens not to pay visits to Nagorno Karabakh without consent of the Azerbaijani authorities.
"According to the international law the Nagorno-Karabakh is an inseparable part of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Entering the occupied territories without the prior consent of the authorities in Baku will constitute a violation of the state border of the Azerbaijan Republic," the Foreign Ministry's statement publicized by the Polish Embassy in Azerbaijan reads.

MEP, the keynote speaker on Armenia Tomasz Poreba, visited separatist Nagorno-Karabakh during his recent trip to Armenia, not informing official Baku about it.

In Nagorno-Karabakh he held meetings with the leadership of the unrecognized republic and discussing issues concerning the resolution of the Karabakh conflict, the situation in the region and bilateral relations, the Armenian media outlets reported earlier.

In the light of illegal entry to the territories of Nagorno Karabakh, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry presented a protest note to Polish Ambassador Mikhal Labenda. Poreba has been declared persona non grata by Azerbaijani authorities, and his further visits to the country are not welcomed.
