Azerbaijani President attends ceremony of National Olympic Committee - PHOTOS

President of the Azerbaijan Republic and President of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony on the occasion.

First, the Head of State saw a photo exhibition launched in the foyer of the Committee featuring the sports in Azerbaijan, victories gained by Azerbaijani sportsmen in international contests, including the 1st Summer Youth Olympic Games held in Singapore.

The ceremony participants warmly welcomed President Ilham Aliyev. The President made a speech in the event.

Vice-President of the Committee, Chingiz Huseynzade thanked the Head of State for the care and attention for sportsmen.

Member of the International Military Sports Council colonel Natig Aliyev presented the Council`s reward to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, sportsmen, trainers and sports specialists were presented rewards, orders of new flats.

Member of NOC`s Executive Committee, chairperson of Azerbaijan “Kitab” (Book) society Zarifa Salahova thanked President Ilham Aliyev on behalf of sportsmen. Salahova also presented a miniature book entitled “The Oil Strategy of Heydar Aliyev” to the Head of State.
