Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis Speaker meets special representative of Iranian Parliament's Chairman

Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov met Friday Kazem Jalali, special representative of Chairman of Iran`s Islamic Consultative Assembly and Deputy Chairman of the National Security Commission.

Asadov said friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Iran were developing successfully. He underlined the role of the two countries` presidents in development of bilateral relationship.

According to Asadov, reciprocal visits by presidents Ilham Aliyev and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, numerous documents signed have opened new opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation.

Touching upon interparliamentary ties, Asadov praised the fact that freindship groups were operating in the two countries` parliaments.

For his part, Kazem Jalali conveyed greetings of Chairman of Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani to Ogtay Asadov. He also handed over Larijani`s letter to Asadov.

Jalali pointed out Larijani would arrive in Azerbaijan at an appropriate time upon Asadov`s invitation. He underscored the role of the two countries` leaders in development of bilateral ties, as well.

The sides also discussed how to organize reciprocal visits of friendship groups, develop cooperation between parliamentarians within international organizations and conduct exchange of experience in legislative sphere.
