Azeri FM, other ECO countries' foreign ministers gather in Istanbul

On the threshold of the Economic Cooperation Organization`s XI Summit the foreign minister of member countries held their 19th meeting. Azerbaijan`s foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov took part at the event.

As stated, in the meeting the ECO foreign ministers council presidency passed From Iran to Turkey.

Foreign minister of Turkey Ahmed Davutoglu said they have to discuss the regional and global questions. Population of the ECO countries averages 400 million, with 8 million square metes area. Ensuring stability and progress in this space is one of the key goals. There is also need for realization of new economic projects, Davutoglu said. According to him, the ECO Trade Agreement is also expected to be signed at the Summit.

Iran`s foreign minister Ali Akbar Salihi, Afganistan`s foreign minister Zalmay Rasul, Pakistan`s foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Kazakhistan`s deputy foreign minister Kayrat Saribay took part at the meeting.
