The opposition Azerbaijani MPs want to be represented in the leadership of the Parliament.

Chairman of the Civil Solidarity Party, Sabir Rustamkhanli, said at the parliament's meeting on Tuesday that the MPs representing the opposition in 90s were represented in the leadership of Parliament although they accounted for 3% of MPs.
"Then one of the opposition representatives was a deputy speaker of parliament and three were the chairmen of parliamentary committees. Today, the opposition MPs make up to 10% of the parliament," said Rustamkhanli.
Chairman of the Popular Front Party of Unified Azerbaijan Gudrat Hasanguliyev said that Azerbaijan is the only country in the South Caucasus, where the opposition is not represented in the leadership of parliament.
"We expected that after forming a new parliament, the opposition will be represented in the parliament's leadership. But the opposition did not gain a seat even at the level of chairman of the committee. This question must find its solution, and one of the ways of its solution is the creation of new committees in parliament," Hasanguliyev said.
