Chairman of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek must voice his position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, MP Ali Ahmadov, deputy chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party, said at a meeting of the Azerbaijani parliament.
"If the chairman of the parliament voices another position, then one should not consider the visit of a representative to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan as strange," he said.
He said that it is necessary to adopt a law on occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
"After determining the legal status of the occupied territories, the bill must reflect the information about how and in what order the international organizations may visit the Nagorno-Karabakh. In this case, the Azerbaijani parliament may impose sanctions on people who violate the law," he said.
MEP, the keynote speaker on Armenia Tomasz Poręba is on a visit to Nagorno-Karabakh from Dec.19, where he is holding meetings with the leadership of the unrecognized republic and discussing issues concerning the resolution of the Karabakh conflict, the situation in the region and bilateral relations, the Armenian media outlets reported.
