Azerbaijan, Lithuania discuss improvement of Azerbaijani legislation

The National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) of the Azerbaijani Republic held discussions on the issues of approximation of the Azerbaijani legislation with EU legislation and state control over entrepreneur activity with the director of Economic and EU Policy Department at Ministry of Economy of Lithuania Martynas Barysas and director of the Faculty of International Relations and Political Science at the Vilnius University Ramunas Vilpisauskas, the confederation reported on Monday.

According to the Confederation chairman Mammad Musayev, there is a need to improve the Azerbaijani legislation with a view to integration into the EU, and Lithuania's experience in this issue is very important.

The meeting stressed a need to provide the primary version of the new legislation for entrepreneurs' consideration. It was also agreed to expand cooperation in this field.

Activity on assessing the impact of legislation in EU member states is carried out under twinning project "Support to Azerbaijani Parliament," implemented under the European Neighborhood Policy.
