
The third Congress of World Azerbaijanis will be held in March, 2011 in Baku, Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov told journalists.
Ibrahimov recalled that the second Congress of World Azerbaijanis was held in Baku on March, 2006. He underlined the first Congress was addressed by national leader Heydar Aliyev, while the second by President Ilham Aliyev.
“In their speeches, they outlined directions of five-year activities of world Azerbaijanis,” he added.
The Committee Chairman also pointed out positive steps had been taken in building Diaspora over the last five years. “We think that special directions on the activity of the Diaspora will be outlined in the third Congress, as well”.
