"Azerbaijani army no longer depends on ammunition supply by foreign countries"

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces' dependence on the supply of ammunition by foreign countries has already been eliminated, Azerbaijani Defense Industry Minister Yavar Jamalov told journalists on Friday.

"Today, we are working to eliminate the dependence on armored techniques," Jamalov said. "In addition, we install modern arms systems on the armored techniques."

Jamalov said the Azerbaijani Defense Industry Ministry is in talks with Turkey's Otokar Company on the production of armored vehicles.

Today, Azerbaijan marks the establishment if the Defense Industry Ministry. A ministerial delegation led by Jamalov visited the Alley of Honors and laid a wreath at the tomb of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The delegation also visited the Alley of Martyrs and laid flowers on the graves of those who died for the independence of Azerbaijan.
