
On December 10, 2010, on the day of granting of the Nobel Prize, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country arranged a ceremony of rewarding of the North Star Order of first degree of the head of the Baku Nobel Heritage Fund (BNHF) Togrul Adil oglu Bagirov, the embassy of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Sweden said.
On behalf of the King of Sweden the Order was handed over to Togrul Bagirov by the chief of the Protocol Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country Caroline Vicini.
At the ceremony also taking part was the spouse of Togrul Bagirov, Sevinj Bagirova, the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Sweden Rafael Ibrahimov, the deputy chief of the Protocol Anders Nystrom, the former ambassador of Sweden to Azerbaijan and nowadays the employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hans Gunnar Aden, etc.
The North Star Order is the highest and prestigious award of Carl XVI Gustav, King of Sweden, handed over by the monarch to the foreign citizen.
Today, for the first time in history, the representative of Azerbaijan Togrul Bagirov has been awarded this high award for restoration and preservation of the historical heritage of Sweden, in particular, family residence of the Nobel brothers "Villa Petrolia" in capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.
From the moment of the reconstruction termination "Villa Petrolia" of the Baku Nobel Heritage Fund was visited by the minister of labor S. Lithurin and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden C. Bildt, representatives of the Nobel family, members of the Swedish Riksdag (Parliament), and also representatives of Sweden in the European Union.
