Azerbaijani CEC says remaks about government intervention in electoral process are "groundless"

26 November 2010 [14:47] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani Parliamentary elections were held in terms of political stability, in accordance with the legislation, the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission chairman Mazahir Panahov said in his speech at the Constitutional Court's meeting on Friday.

"Charge on government agencies' intervention in the electoral process is not reflected in local and international organizations' reports. The reports also don't include a complaint about police intervention in the electoral process," Panahov said.

Answering to a question of the Constitutional Court's member, Panahov said that the fact of annulling results in 46 polling stations hasn't affected the election results. At the end of his speech, Panahov asked the court to approve the election results.
