Baku hosts meeting of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission

The second meeting of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission was in Baku on November 25.
Addressing the event, co-chair of the commission, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov hailed development of bilateral relations between the two countries. He stressed “thanks to efforts of the heads of states, bilateral relations strengthened between our countries”.

Touching upon trade between the two countries, Eyyubov said trade turnover has been increased 7-fold. Turkmenistan`s Deputy Premier Khidir Saparliyev delivered President Gurbangulu Berdymuhammedov`s greetings to attendees.

He praised cooperation between the two countries in oil, gas, culture and scientific fields. Saparliyev stressed Turkmenistan is interested in Azerbaijan`s experience on maritime shipping. The participants adopted a protocol on the results of the meeting.
