Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Argentina`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship signed a Memorandum of Understanding on political consultations.
The MoU was signed by Azerbaijan`s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalaf Khalafov and visiting Argentina`s Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship Alberto Pedro D'Alotto.
Prior to the signing ceremony, the Argentine minister had a meeting with Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and praised Azerbaijan`s development. He hailed the opening of Azerbaijan`s embassy in Argentina.
Mammadyarov, in turn, said there was great potential for development of relations between the two countries in various fields. He touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, noting “putting an end to the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan is the major priority in our foreign policy”.
D'Alotto said Argentina backs peace talks within the OSCE Minsk group format.
