Azerbaijan's permanent representative to UN meets Belizean FM

Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United Nations Agshin Mehdiyev met with the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Wilfred Elrington during his visit to Belize, according to the press-release by the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the UN.

The meeting discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations and prospects of cooperation in all fields interesting the two countries, as well as improvement of legal base for cooperation. Mehdiyev brought to the attention of his interlocutor the fact of occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, and Azerbaijan's position on this conflict.

The sides also discussed issues relating to international organizations whose members are both countries, and a need to continue consultations along these lines was stressed.

Both sides emphasized the importance of holding high-level meetings on an ongoing basis to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, technical, educational and cultural spheres.
