President Ilham Aliyev visits country's Agdam and Fuzuli regions - UPDATE

President Ilham Aliyev attended an opening ceremony for a new settlement for internally displaced families in Agdam.

Deputy Premier, Chairman of the State Committee on Refugee and IDP affairs AIL Hasanov informed the Head of State about the settlement built for 689 families. The total area of the houses built is 37,187 sq. meters. There is an assembly hall with a capacity to seat 152 people, kindergarten, and club-community center.

President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva saw a four-room house of the Karabakh war veteran Oruj Jabbarov. The Head of State met with IDPs and congratulated them. President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated a school designed for 440 pupils.

President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated a new building of the district`s central hospital in Agdam. President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva viewed facilities in the building. A photo stand in the foyer of the two-storey building features national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev`s care for healthcare.

The Head of State saw photographs depicting the building`s past and present look.
The 50-bed modern hospital was built within two months. It will be serving patients from not only Agdam but also adjacent regions.

The polyclinic on the first floor has stomatology, ophthalmology, ultrasound, physiotherapy, neuropathology units while the second floor houses surgery, resuscitation, anesthesiology, intensive therapy ones. Ilham Aliyev gave respective instructions and recommendations.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Agdam region today. Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva visited a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the region`s Guzanlı settlement. They laid flowers at the monument.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today opened a Medical Center in Fuzuli. The Head of State congratulated the center`s staff.

The President cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the facility, and then toured it.
President of the State oil company, SOCAR, Rovnag Abdullayev, told the Head of State the construction of the center began in 2008. The center occupies an area of 1.5 hectares.

The center has two helipads allowing medics to quickly respond to incidents on the frontline. It also features two buildings for doctors who will be on secondment at the facility.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has inaugurated Horadiz Sport Complex in Fuzuli region.
After cutting the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the facility, the Head of State toured it.

Ilham Aliyev was told the complex occupied a total area of 5 hectares. The complex features a 30-room hotel, a basketball ground, tennis court and parking.

The President spoke with local residents. President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva watched athletes` exercises and a concert. The Head of State viewed a 1,860-seat football stadium.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today cut a ribbon to officially inaugurate a Mugham Center in Horadiz. Aliyev was told the construction of the Center began in May, 2010. The 3-storied Center features three buildings. It has 31 classrooms.

The President and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva viewed a sketch model of the Center. The Head of State and the first lady toured the classrooms where they watched students' training. They also viewed a 320-hall.

The Center also has a 520-seat open air hall.

Accompanied by first lady Mehriban Aliyeva, the Head of State laid flowers at a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in Horadiz.

Large-scaled construction and land improvement work is underway in Fuzuli like in Azerbaijan`s other regions. Some 1,372 permanent and nearly 6,000 temporary jobs have been created in the region since 2004. A particular emphasis has been placed on developing education, healthcare and culture in the region.
