Renaming the Azerbaijani cities in the occupied territories, in particular Agdam, by giving it an Armenian name is a new game of certain forces in Armenia, Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Head-of-Staff Ramiz Mehdiyev told journalists on Thursday.
According to Mehdiyev, such actions demonstrate the intention of some forces in Armenia to destabilize and worsen the situation. By the decision of the government of self-proclaimed "Nagorno Karabakh Republic", the Agdam region was renamed as "Akna" and became one of the quarters of the Askeran city.
"I believe that international organizations should strongly condemn such acts of the Armenian side and put an end to such games of the Armenian political elite," Mehdiyev said.
