Heydar Aliyev memorial plaque to be opened in Vologda

Heydar Aliyev memorial plaque will be established in Vologda, AzerTAc state news agency reported. It will be established in a park at the October Street.

The memorial plaque will be opened during the visit of the delegations of consul generals of Azerbaijan, Belgium, Ukraine, Cyprus, and diplomats from Belarus, Romania, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Peru, Angola to Vologda. The guests will attend the opening of the Museum of Lace and visit the Bryanchaninovs Estate and open the plaque dedicated to Heydar Aliyev.

Being a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Heydar Aliyev came to Vologda in the summer of 1983 to give the city the Order of the October Revolution "For the successes achieved by city workers in the economic and cultural development, the revolutionary achievements and contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War".

During his visit, Heydar Aliyev visited the factories, the museum and planted an oak in a park near the monument to Belyaev. The memorial plaque will be opened on November 4.
