Azerbaijani soldier wounded, Azeri troops did not answer Armenian fire

01 November 2010 [13:32] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani soldier Farrrukh Zeynalov was wounded as the Armenian armed forces breached the ceasefire agreement on the contact line at 4:20 p.m. on Oct.31, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported. Zeynalov has been hospitalized. He is in stable condition.

Zeynalov was enlisted from the Lankaran Region Military Commissariat.

The ministry reported that the Azerbaijani troops were ordered not to answer the fire. They were told to follow the ceasefire regime as talks are underway on a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Regardless, the Armenian armed forces continue to worsen the situation and violate the ceasefire, the ministry noted.

"Armenia should understand that this situation must not be abused and the Azerbaijani side will be forced to respond to the fire if mutual understanding is not followed," the ministry said.

Armenian armed forces opened fire at Azerbaijani troops on Oct. 31 from positions outside the Sarijali, Shuraabad and Garagashli villages in the Agdam region at 12:00-2:20 p.m., 1:50-2:00 p.m. and 10:00-10:10 p.m., as well as from positions in the Goranboy region at 3:45-4:00 p.m., the ministry reported.

The Armenian armed forces opened fire at the Azerbaijani troops from positions in the Dashkesen region at 12:25-1:00 p.m. and from positions outside the Seysulan and Goyarkh villages in the Tartar region at 5:10-5:35 p.m. and 8:10-8:15 p.m., the ministry reported.
