News on signing of a "cooperation agreement" between the Russian university and the "Mesrop Mashtots University" in Khankandi turned out wrong.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia addressed an appropriate letter to the Tolyatti State University in the Samara region in connection with recent media reports spread in Armenia about signing of a "cooperation agreement" between Russia's Tolyatti State University, based in Samara and the "Mesrop Mashtots University" in Khankandi, according to the official statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The Russian university sent a response letter to the embassy, denying the media reports. "The Tolyatti State University led by Rector Mikhail Krishtal has not concluded and doesn't plan to conclude any agreement either with illegally operating "Mesrop Mashtots University" in Khankandi or with other organizations located in Azerbaijan's occupied territories," the letter said. "The Armenian media reports incorrectly interpreted the Russian University vice Rector Abramian and they do not reflect a real state of affairs.
