World Turkic Forum to be held annually

The World Turkic Forum, organized by Turkish-Asian Center for Strategic Studies (TASAM), the main theme of which was "Turkic Council, Turkic Diaspora and Socio-economic cooperation" ended in Istanbul, Azerbaijan State Committee for Diaspora said.

According to the adopted final document, the World Turkic Forum will be held annually. It was decided to establish two working groups, which will meet at least once a year to discuss various issues and identify appropriate agenda for the Forum.

Also, in order to ensure a fruitful dialogue between the parties, it was decided to establish a common Internet - portal. The portal will operate in the Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Turkmen languages.

The Forum Secretariat will be located in Istanbul.

The first World Turkic Forum was held in Istanbul from 20 to 22 October. The event was attended by representatives of the Turkic Diasporas from 60 countries. Azerbaijan was represented by delegation of the State Committee for Diaspora, MPs, scientists, leaders of some NGOs.
