Headquarters of CIS observation mission to watch November 7 parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan has started functioning from today.

Head of the CIS Observation Missions headquarters Yevgeni Sloboda said that 6 long-term observers work at the headquarters. Deputy CIS Executive Secretary Vladimir Gorkun was among the long-term observers arrived in Baku yesterday. He will stay in Baku till October 24.
“We will hold meetings with Azerbaijani officials, at CEC and DECs, electoral blocks and political parties, candidates. We will ask The General Prosecutor’s Office, Supreme Court and Interior Ministry to inform CIS observers’ headquarters about received complaints related to elections”, said Sloboda.
To him, CIS long-term observers will stay in Baku until the end of the elections. On the day of elections the number of CIS observers will reach 350. CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev will lead the observation mission.
