Roland Kobia: EU and Azerbaijan conduct intensive negotiations on Nabucco project

Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Roland Kobia highly assessed the meeting on signing of associative agreement between EU and Azerbaijan held in Brussels last week.

Kobia noted that this was the second meeting held between the sides: “Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Mahmoud Mammadguliyev conducted negotiations with commissioner Fule on future plans within the framework of the Eastern Partnership program. As I know, meetings were successful”.

Kobia noted that negotiations between EU and Azerbaijan on Nabucco project were also very good and intensive: “Very active work is underway in this regard. Though the negotiations are not always strike the eye, they go on. Nabucco project continues to remain on the agenda”.

Remind that, recently, Reuters agency told implementation of Nabucco project had been delayed till 2011 because of postponement of negotiations with Azerbaijan.
