President of European Commission intends to visit South Caucasus

“President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso confirmed that he would visit South Caucasus, as well as Azerbaijan. But the date of the visit is not known yet”, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Roland Kobia said, APA reports. The ambassador noted that Barroso’s visit depended on working plan: “We must find appropriate date. I hope that it will be possible in the coming months”.

Kobia said that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, European Commissioner on Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule and European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger wanted to visit Azerbaijan as well: “Dates of the visits have not been specified yet”.
