Azerbaijan's First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva's message welcomed at first ladies summit in Kuala Lumpur

“A Child Today, a Leader Tomorrow”, the First Ladies Summit took place October 11-13 in Kuala Lumpur.
In her opening speech, Datin Seri Rosmah, First Lady of Malaysia said, “Children are our inheritance, our investment, and in fact, they are our hope for a beautiful world. Then, they are our most valuable assets. However, until now, they are the most vulnerable group in our society”.

First Ladies from 21 countries, and 13 ministers were among the VIPs who attended the conference. Chairwoman of the State Committee on Family, Children and Women Problems Hijran Huseynova represented First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva.

Huseynova read out Mehriban Aliyeva`s message to the event participants. Huseynova highlighted the need to pay attention to children who suffered a lot in conflict zones. The address was welcomed by meeting participants. The event ended with adoption of a declaration.

The summit was initiated by the Kuala Lumpur’s First lady, Datin Seri Rosmah, wife of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib, and sponsored by the Ministry of Women, Domestic and Social Development.
