Visit program of PACE long-term observation mission for Azerbaijani parliamentary elections made public

PACE's long-term observation mission for parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will arrive in the country on October 19-21 to assess the pre-election situation. The five-member mission will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, speaker of the parliament Ogtay Asadov, Interior Minister Ramil Usubov, chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov, chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev.

The delegation will also meet with the main opposition parties and blocs, NGOs dealing with election issues and media representatives. PACE delegation will hold a press conference on the outcomes of the visit on October 21.

The mission headed by Belgian parliamentarian Paul Wille will include Pedro Agramunt Font de Mora (Spain), Tadeusz Iwinski (Poland), Øyvind Vaksdal (Norway) and Jaakko Laakso (Finland).

Member of the mission Pedro Agramunt Font de Mora is the PACE Monitoring Committee’s new co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan.
