President Ilham Aliyev trips to Yevlakh, Mingachevir - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President Ilham Aliyev inspected construction progress of a boulevard-hotel complex  located on the bank of Kur river in Yevlakh. The Head of State was informed that the total built-up area of the complex is 10 hectares. The construction site of the hotel occupies an area of 2156 square meters. The five-storey hotel has 44 rooms, restaurant, bar, gym, swimming-pool, offices and other facilities.

President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva viewed a model of the hotel, layout of rooms.

The length of riverside boulevard will be extended from 1.5-km to 4 km. The boulevard will have great entertainment facilities. The greening work is underway currently. The Head of State saw an inscription on the rock saying national leader Heydar Aliyev was on the Kura bank on September 13, 2002. The Azerbaijani leader was briefed about old living poplar, which was included into the Red Book.

The Head of State and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva posed for photographs against the background of the tree. President Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the work done here and gave respective recommendations.

President Ilham Aliyev attended an opening ceremony of the Azertokhum LLC seed-growing firm in Yevlakh. The Head of State and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva were warmly welcomed by the company`s team.

The President was told that the enterprise occupies an area of 7 hectares. The facilities here include 80-ton weighing machine, 12 depots, seed lab, repair shop, service station. The firm employs 80 people.

The Head of State pushed the button launching the enterprise. He watched the production process and saw the finished products.

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has inaugurated a new building of the secondary school No1 in Yevlakh. Accompanied by his wife Mehriban Aliyeva, Ilham Aliyev spoke to the school's teaching staff and representatives of the general public who gathered for the opening ceremony. President cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the facility, and then viewed it. The President was told the school occupied a total area of nearly 1193 square meters.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Yevlakh after completing his trip to Mingachevir.

First, the Head of State and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva put flowers, in the Heydar Aliyev park, at a monument to the national leader. Head of Executive Power of Yevlakh Elmar Veliyev informed the President on the reconstruction and repair work in the park.

President Ilham Aliyev has today opened a new administrative building of the New Azerbaijan Party's Mingachevir branch.

The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the building, and then viewed it.
The President was told the building covers a total area of 400 square meters.

There is a bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the foyer of the building. Photo stands were installed here to highlight what national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev had done in the public and political life of the country.

All rooms are provided with computers and other necessary facilities. President Ilham Aliyev praised the work done here.

President Ilham Aliyev on October 14 inaugurated the gas main in the Guneshli residential area in the Mingachevir city of Azerbaijan.

Chief of the State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev reported on the construction works carried out in the site. The gas main will serve 2 thousand houses, Abdullayev underlined.

President Aliyev lit the torch symbolizing delivery of natural gas to the residential area, and congratulated the residents.

President Ilham Aliyev has today attended the inauguration ceremony of the Chess School in Mingachevir city of Azerbaijan.

Head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the school and toured it.

President Aliyev was informed the classrooms with a total capacity of 32 pupiles were equipped with chess-boards, clocks and computers. The video cameras were installed to monitor education process. The photo exhibition of the School display achievements of the local chess players in international and republican competitions. Administrative offices and competition hall were supplied with all necessary equipment.

The 68 chess players may simultaneously demonstrate their skills in the competition hall with a total area of 300 square meters.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the conditions created here.

President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan today opened the reconstructed Mingachevir-Khaldan highway during his trip to the western regions of country.

Transport minister of Azerbaijan Ziya Mammadov reported the head of state, highlighting the parameters of the construction works in the dual way of 21 km length. As is reported, the highway links the city of Mingachevir with the Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh motor road, also providing communication with the capital city, Baku.

The President inaugurated the highway and wished successes to the road constructors.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inspected the ongoing reconstruction and repair work at the Davudova Mingachevir State Theatre. The Head of State first inspected land improvement work in the park located in front of the building.

The Head of State viewed photos reflecting the previous and current state of the building. The President was told the theatre`s building was constructed in 1951.

The reconstruction work started in 2008 and will be completed in 2011. The two-storey building covers a total area of 2,300 square meters. It has 32 rooms. The Azerbaijani leader gave relevant instructions and recommendations.

President Ilham Aliyev has attended today the opening ceremony of the Kur Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir city. Here, the Head of State and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva were warmly welcomed by the event participants. Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the center and toured it.

Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov told the President the rowing base built in the center was unique one not only in the CIS, but also in Europe. During his trip to Mingachevir in 2004, President visited the former Kur rowing base and gave instructions to upgrade it. The construction of the base started in 2007.

The complex includes administrative building, swimming pool, a hotel, sports hall, rowing club, tennis court, hangar and cottage. Ilham Aliyev viewed the judges' tower, pool, sports hall, hangar and hotel. The Head of State also took a motorboat trip along this part of the Kur River.
Then, the Head of State met with sportsmen and local residents.
