IPU grants observer status to TurkPA

Delegation led by Ramil Hasanov, Secretary General of TurkPA, parliamentary assembly of the Turkic-Speaking countries, participated at the 123rd plenary session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva on October 3-7, the organization said today.

IPU reviewed TurkPA’s request to grant it an observer status and met the organization’s request with majority of votes. The IPU brings together parliaments of 165 countries and about 30 international parliamentary unions.

This decision opens a new page in TurkPA’s cooperation with international organizations and will open up opportunities to get observer and special guest status in influential organizations.
