Number of foreigners in Azerbaijan registered in private registry system exceeds 9,000

The number of foreigners registered in the private registry system in the Azerbaijani State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) has exceeded 9,000 people, the fund reported on Monday.
"The number of foreigners registered in the private registry system has increased by 17.4% or 401 people, having made up 9,430 people as of Oct.1, 2010," the fund reported.

The foreigners from 91 countries passed registration in the country and the majority of them are Turkish citizens - 5,318 people. There also were changes in the number of citizens of other countries. So, the Georgian citizens ranked second - 1,334 and the Russian citizens ranked third - 598.

According to the SSPF, in private registry system were registered citizens of Iran - 306 persons, India - 248, China - 141, Bosnia and Herzegovina - 125, Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 90, Ukraine - 86, Philippine - 84, Pakistan - 81, Malaysia - 80, Kazakhstan - 73, Uzbekistan - 71, Turkmenistan - 55, Germany - 61, Italy - 50 and the U.S. - 49.

The private registry system is the organization accounting information on each insured person to provide them pension and other rights in the sphere of social protection in accordance with the laws of their country.

The Azerbaijani President signed a decree on the implementation of the Law "On a private registry system in the state social insurance" in December 2001.
