"Parliamentary elections is a very good opportunity to show how Azerbaijan is serious about commitments to Council of Europe"

“As a result of our successful cooperation with the government, we have prepared action plan on the forthcoming parliamentary elections,” Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe in Azerbaijan Veronika Kotek said at the opening of the joint trainings organized by the Central Election Commission (CEC) and Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.

She said according to the action plan, relevant activities have been and are being carried out.
“These activities include work with the executive structures, journalists, voters and bodies holding the elections,” she said.

Veronika Kotek told the members of the constituencies attending the training that November 7 parliamentary elections is a very good opportunity to demonstrate how seriously Azerbaijan approaches the commitments. She also said that activities will be carried out on the 10th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s membership of the Council of Europe.
