“According to law, every voter in Azerbaijan has a right to run for the parliament. That person can be Armenian, Georgian, Russian, Jewish or Turkish.
"There is nothing to wonder about", said Chairman of the Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov speaking about the intention of chairman of the Armenian Assembly of Azerbaijan Grigoriy Ayvazyan to run for the Azerbaijani parliament.
“There is a term that the candidate should be a citizen of Azerbaijan. There is no problem in securing the rights of Azerbaijani citizens to vote or to participate in the elections as a candidate in the country’s territory”.
Grigoriy Ayvazyan, who is living in Armenia currently, said he intended to participate in the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan on November 7.
