Azerbaijani president opens Chabad Ohr Avner education center for Jewish children in Baku

Accompanied by his wife Mehriban Aliyeva, the Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the 450-seat center and then viewed it. The state-of-the-art center has a 30-classroom education building.

It also features a Jewish history and culture center and a library.

The President congratulated the center's teaching staff.

Lev Leviev, President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS and chief of the Ohr Avner Foundation, praised the Azerbaijani govenrment's attention and care towards the Jewish community in Azerbaijan. He called the country an example of tolerance.

President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva was presented with an award for her contribution to developing tolerance and interfaith dialogue in Azerbaijan.
