UN General Assembly to discuss situation in Azerbaijan's occupied territories in December

Situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and issue on protracted conflicts in GUAM space will be submitted for discussion within the framework of the UN General Assembly's 65th session on December 13. It has been reflected in working program of the 65th plenary session, APA reports.

“The situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan” (18th item) draft resolution and “Respect international law and international human rights in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan” draft decision sub voce A/64/L.57 were on the agenda of the 64th session. As a result of intensive negotiations with the sides, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs announced that for the purpose of learning humanitarian state in the occupied territories, the co-chairs would carry out fact-finding mission there at the end of September, early in October.

In connection with it, Azerbaijani side asked to delay reviewing of A/64/L.57 draft decision and discuss item “The situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan” at the UN General Assembly’s 65th session.
