
The speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Oktay Asadov called for all MPs to be active to ensure democratic parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan at the opening of the autumn session of the Parliament. MP Panah Huseynov proposed to include approving of Musavat opposition party's candidates for vacancies in the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) in the agenda of the parliament.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
The agenda of the autumn session of the Azerbaijani parliament includes 12 questions. The Parliament will consider 34 documents at the meeting on Thursday and on October 8.
