Chairman of the Czech Senate's committee on European Union affairs has hailed political and economic stability in Azerbaijan.

In an interview with journalists in Baku, Ludek Sefzig said: “We praise Azerbaijan`s being a politically and economically stable country.”
“Azerbaijan, whose economy is developing at a rapid pace, has suffered minimum loss from the global financial crisis.”
On his Baku visit, Sefzig said he held a number of fruitful meetings to discuss “how to strengthen both the Azerbaijan-Czechia and Azerbaijan-European Union relations”.
“The Czech government places a particular emphasis to developing the neighborhood policy as part of the EU Eastern Partnership program,” he added.
Sefzig said that in Baku he also discussed prospects for boosting interparliamentary cooperation between Azerbaijan and Czechia. The Czech Senate official stressed the importance of intensifying reciprocal high-level visits.
