Azerbaijani FM to meet with NATO Secretary General

The Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov will meet with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, NATO spokesman James Appathurai said at a weekly press briefing on Tuesday, NATO website reported.

"It is planned that the Secretary General will meet on Friday with Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan. This is of course a meeting in the long tradition of meetings and the partnership between NATO and Azerbaijan. There will be North Atlantic Council meeting to discuss our partnership and practical cooperation between NATO and Azerbaijan," Appathurai said.

According to the spokesman, the Secretary General will visit Georgia on Friday. He will meet with the President of Georgia, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Parliament, Minister of Defence and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The NATO chief will open the NATO Liaison Office in Tbilisi.
