Azerbaijan-related issue not to be discussed at PACE session

“Our main task in the session will be connected with the election of the secretary general, formation of the mission that will observe the elections in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan’s participation in various events,” head of the parliament’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Samad Seyidov said.

Asked about the priorities of the Azerbaijani delegation during the autumn session of PACE Samad Seyidov said the agenda of the session did not contain an issue directly related to Azerbaijan.

“The discussions related to Azerbaijan will be held in January after the elections,” he said.

Commenting on the election of PACE secretary general head of the Azerbaijani delegation said present secretary general Mateo Sorinas had been elected twice and could not be elected any more. It will be the last time the Azerbaijani delegation will attend the session in this composition.
