Chairman of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov met Friday Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Abdelwahad Radi.

Asadov said Azerbaijan attaches great importance to developing relations with Morocco. He expressed belief that “high-level visits will contribute to deepening our relations”.
Asadov pointed out the current level of economic cooperation does not meet the existing potential of the two countries.
“An intergovernmental joint commission has already been established which will play great role in expansion of the bilateral ties.”
Asadov also underlined the role of parliaments in developing of interstate relations. He added “our parliamentarians share the same position within international organizations on issues of mutual interest”.
On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he thanked the Moroccan government for supporting Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity. He expressed assurance this policy would remain unchanged.
Radi, in turn, underlined the importance of his visit saying it will contribute to “strengthening our friendly and fraternal relations”.
Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he said “we understand Azerbaijan very well on this issue, because our territorial integrity has been violated, too”.
“We consider that every problem must be settled peacefully and on the basis of the norms and principles of international law”.
The sides also exchanged views on how to boost bilateral, education, cultural and humanitarian cooperation and organize reciprocal visits of MPs. Azerbaijan`s first vice-speaker Ziyafat Asgarov, head of the Milli Majlis Administration Safa Mirzayev were present at the meeting.
