Baku hosts round table on security of Persian Gulf and Azerbaijan

The center for Strategic Studies under the Azerbaijan President hosted a “roundtable” meeting on the security of Persian Gulf and Azerbaijan on September 22.
Director of Research and Development at the Institute for Near East and Gulf Military Analysis (INEGMA), Theodore Karasik made a report at the event. He highlighted the current situation in the South Caucasus and Middle East regions and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Karasik praised the development process he saw in Azerbaijan. He said Azerbaijan had important strategic importance in the region.

He underlined the necessity of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in terms of the region's security. He added the problem should be settled peacefully and on the basis of principles of international law. The meeting brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, specialists for regional and international relations.
