The EU is committed to transform its relations with the countries taking part in the Eastern Partnership into success stories, the Head of the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan Roland Kobia said. This will include "providing inputs to advance with the resolution of conflicts in region," he said in an interview to Azerbaijan Today magazine, posted on the Delegation's website.
The Eastern Partnership initiative could serve as a platform to promote mutual understanding between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Kobia suggested, adding," Indeed, based on Europe's own experience, we believe that joint initiatives can build confidence, trust, and ultimately stimulate the peace process."
Turning to cooperation between the EU and Azerbiajan in the energy sector, the Head of Delegation said "We very much appreciate Azerbaijan's continued and concrete commitment to help develop the Southern Corridor for Energy, including Nabucco."
