Azerbaijani, Egyptian governments to discuss economic relations

The 4th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Egypt intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and cultural cooperation will be held in Cairo in March 2011. The development of trade and investment relations between the two countries will be discussed there, Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Faiza Abu Naja said.

"During the meeting the commission will get acquainted with the results of the work done in the field of cooperation and implementation of agreements signed during the last meeting," she told Trend.

She said that during the fourth meeting Azerbaijan and Egypt will focus on development of cooperation, giving competitive advantage.

"Special attention is paid to the cooperation in the health sector, the production of medicines and vaccines, civil aviation, construction, oil and gas, telecommunications and information technologies," minister said.

The last meeting of the commission was held in Baku in 2007, and the first one - in Cairo in 2005.

She said that the agenda will also include the issues of joint investments in tourism, agriculture, higher education and scientific research. Touching upon the visa regime facilitation between the two countries to expand economic ties, she said that Egyptian businessmen have favorable conditions to get visa to Azerbaijan, without any special invitations from the companies.
