The Azerbaijani Presidential Administration calls upon local authorities do not intervene in the electoral process.
"This is the 4th parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan. Each election had some problems and difficulties. The problems faced by earlier observers, will be maximally prevented", Presidential Administration Social and Political Department head Ali Hasanov told journalists on Monday.

According to him, an official will be punished in appropriate manner for interfering in the elections.

"No one is guaranteed from the undesirable actions, but more importantly, not to allow deliberately using of the administrative resources in favor of certain parties and candidates. The task of local authorities is to create favorable conditions for holding transparent and democratic elections," Hasanov said.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
