Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met at the Ciragan palace in Istanbul on Wednesday. The sides expressed satisfaction with development of friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in various spheres.
They touched upon the current state of the talks to settle the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The sides discussed cooperation between the two counties in the energy sector, including development of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Shahdeniz projects, as well as regional issues.
The importance of the high-level Strategic Cooperation Council to be established between Azerbaijan and Turkey was stressed in terms of strengthening of the bilateral ties.
