Georgian President to trip to Baku today

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today will meet with the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Saakashvili will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan today, the Georgian President's press service said. Sept. 14 he will attend an energy summit in Baku, which will focus on cooperation between Georgia, Azerbaijan and Romania in the liquefied gas transportation.

"Sept. 13 the Azerbaijani and Georgian presidents will hold a meeting. Baku will host an energy summit Sept.14, which will be attended by the presidents of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Romania," Georgian President's spokesperson Natia Bandzeladze told Trend.

Sept. 13 energy ministers of three countries will also meet. The Memorandum AGRI (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector) was concluded April 13, 2010, in Bucharest. The project envisages construction of a terminal for gas liquefaction in Georgia and a regasification terminal in Romania.
